Headquartered in Winter Garden, storage giant iStorage, has a lot “in store” for its future. This innovative company will be expanding again, opening a new warehouse facility in Pennsylvania as part of their 2015 growth initiative. A local organization with a national footprint, iStorage offers a reliable, safe, and friendly neighborhood self-storage solution. Their vision for creating exceptional experiences and keeping life moving, has helped them grow into ten states with tens-of-thousands of satisfied customers in five short years.

Growth required more than real estate and vision. It required technology for them to remain competitive, efficient and congruent with the standards of quality for which their brand is known. The expansion also required technology support, cloud adoption and virtual presence to connect all their sites seamlessly. iStorage needed a technology partner to help their technology align with their corporate goals.

iStorage selected i-Tech Support as their technology partner. This total technology support firm, based in Central Florida, had the right combination of expertise and experience to not only advise iStorage, but also handle the deployment of their advanced technology center.

Their first challenge was communication. iStorage wanted to maintain the personal touch of its brand at all their sites. They needed to connect their team across multiple sites and have video conferencing for executives to be virtually present without heavy travel expenditure. Their current phone system, however, lacked the portability and scalability to accomplish this.

It was time for this innovative company to evolve to a unified collaboration system. Leading solutions consultant at i-Tech, Jason Borders, designed a unified collaboration system for iStorage built around the Cisco BKE6K (Cisco 6000 business edition collaboration system). I-Tech integrated cisco phones, cisco switching and cisco UCS servers into the design of a solution that would answer the organization’s needs, and improve productivity and communication between sites. The collaboration system further included end points with video capabilities, so they would be able to collaborate throughout their enterprise seamlessly.

The unified collaboration solution is a great fit for any organization with multiple offices interested in reducing costs and improving communication and productivity. This means executives can get more done is less time. The system allows you to virtually be present at any site at any time. The ROI and possibilities for productivity and mobility and endless.

i-Tech’s business support team assisted with the collaboration upgrade, including selecting the equipment, exploring financing, managing deployment and overseeing configuration. i-Tech also provided Internet and multi protocol label switching (MPLS) at their Pennsylvania office, the Winter Garden office and probably internet and MPLS at the data center.

The new solution is powerful, versatile and scalable. The organization is now connected with their sites, via a fully functional collaboration system across their enterprise. On demand video communication allows executives to maintain close communication with their team without the time and travel costs. This is just the beginning of a long relationship between i-Tech and iStorage. The rollout, which started initially on 2 local sites, is expected to expand to hundred of sites nationwide adding collaboration capabilities at every site. Also in the works are plans to migrate their data center to the cloud.
