Instructional Coaching Cycle
Our instructional coaches engage in collaborative meetings with teachers to reflect on current practices, set goals for growth, implement strategies, gather data, and evolve instruction. Instructional coaching equips educators to embrace evolving practices in the EdTech learning sciences and provides observable and measurable impacts on student learning.
Step 1: Chart a Strategic Course Together
i-Tech meets with the school leadership to kick-off the year’s strategic teaching & learning goals, professional development, & technology initiatives.
Step 2: Monthly Planning
i-Tech engages in monthly cadence meetings with school leadership to plan for the month ahead for instructional priorities and what to focus on during teacher coaching cycles.
Step 3: Instructional Coaching
Our instructional coaches meet with teachers, departments, and teams to focus on teaching and learning goals and technology initiatives to implement for instruction. Teachers apply their learning and strategies in the classroom with their students.
Step 4: Outcomes & Growth
Teachers, departments, and teams are empowered through instructional coaching to implement strategies to transform teaching and learning outcomes. They continue to meet with instructional coaches for tuning practices each week or each month, depending on needs. Teachers document evidence of growth they can share as part of their evaluation process with their observing administrator. Instructional Coaches share back successes to school leadership at monthly planning meetings. A deep and trusted partnership is formed with all stakeholders.
Coaching Cohort for Teacher Leaders
To create the most impactful Instructional Coaching program, we partner with schools to develop their coaches and teacher leaders. We lead a Coaching Cohort designed to foster culture, grow understanding, develop collaborative routines between coaches and teachers, and raise the tide of instruction on your campus.
Step 1 Foster Culture: Empower school leadership to develop the structures, systems, and capacity to support instructional coaching on their campus.
Step 2 Grow Understanding: Form a cohort of the school’s coaches and leaders to engage in ongoing professional development, research, equipping, planning, and goal setting.
Step 3 Develop Collaborative Routines: Coaches engage in collaborative meetings with teachers to reflect on current practices, set goals for growth, implement strategies, gather data, and evolve instruction. Coaches share back their progress to the cohort for feedback.
Step 4 Raise the Tide: Utilize the coaches for instructional coaching, data driven leadership, curriculum development, teacher observations and feedback, and leading professional development, all components that strategically raise the tide of best practices for teaching and learning.
